CHRISTMAS !!
Woke up at about 7 a.m.. No, not for the purpose of scuttling down to my Xmas tree to see what Santa left me this year... I didn't put up my Xmas tree this year..Actually I had to get ready to go to church...
Haha....just incase your wondering, I havnt converted or anything of the sort. I was invited to attend a service held in Hoi Liong's church.
Went down to get a nice cold bowl of coco crunch while flipping through CLEO. Took my time to get ready; long hot bath and all. I checked my handphone to see I had four miss calls all from the same person... Hoi Liong... Then he called my house phone... Just to make sure I was up...Im telling you, the dude was super excited...The service was supposed to start at 10.30 but he wanted us all to be there superrr early...To get seats apparently.
Chung ee came to pick me up around 8 sumthin, went to hoi liongs house, picked him up along wif angel and shaung and next to di changs house. We reached the church at 9 a.m..... One and a half hour to kill...And Hoi Liong was right about one thing...His church was very strategically placed all right.....Right in front of a sewage pond !!! Dont get me started on the stench...But once we entered the building, the sweet smell of air freshener wiped out any trace of the foul stench..
Honestly, I was surprised when I entered the building...Much more glamorous than I anticipated... I was really impressed with the event itself...Very much like an indoor concert ...The deco was awesome !!! The PA was good, the band was good, da xmas production was hillarious yet touching and the atmosphere was enchanting ( around 700 people i think)
Isnt the deco gorgeous ?? Its like candyland The xmas production...Christmas at Chang's
I really did enjoy myself...Unfortunately i had 2 leave early and didnt get 2 see the ending of the drama.... :(
Then i went to a family friends house for lunch..... one word... YUMMMYYY !!
It wasnt the traditional turkey and roast lamb I was hoping for...It was actually all indian style food...but boy was it gOOOd ! I cant count the number of top ups i did.. And you know whut ?? The lady said that her sons did all the cooking...how cool is dat ??
I loved the xmas tree btw !!!
And there was this small little baby jesus arrangement in the corner...B_E_A_utifull ...The virgin mary looked heavenly ( no pun intended)
Had dinner in asia cafe from all places... So conclusion of story is that I didnt get the roasted turkey with cranberry sauce or the stuffed chicken with garnish I was hoping for ....But I had a great time with my friends and family....Well isnt that what xmas is really about ? :)

I was a little bored so i decided raid my moms collection of nailpolish
Alot huh ??? There are some dating back to the 1980's.....i guess that makes em antique or rather vintage nailpolish....I sat with the intention of rearranging them and throwing out old hardened ones.... As usual i got sidetracked... I found this funky blue green pepermint coloured nailpolish...Now, usually i would just throw it out the window but today i was feeling a little rebellious....Yeap, when other people feel rebellious, they break stuff or go n get drunk or sumthin...me, i paint my nails pepermint green....geez....
Not sumthin I would usually do especially with my skin tone but who cares... My mom said it looked cool and my dad totaly hated it ... So i guess its gonna come off pretty soon...
And my old maid called today....quite a surprise...we chatted a little...found out she is working in kalimantan now...She asked me if i finally got a bf... swt....had 2 dissapoint her there...It was nice talking to her after all this time...
That got me thinking about my Port Dicson trip a few days ago... Had a nice time although the hotel was totaly packed and the buffet breakfast dissapointed me !
The view of the hotel pool from the balcony during wee hours in the morning and late at night...If i had taken the picture at any other time you wouldnt be able 2 see the pool...only thousands of tiny people in it...
The sea water wasnt as dirty as i expected it to be so i took a swim in it....Theres me in orange wif my aunts, cousins n brother ( im holding his hand...to his irritation)
You see that tiny little head floating in the water ( middle). Thats me . LOL . I Love floating on my back in the sea staring up at the blue sky with tufts of pearly white clouds...its sooo relaxing.
Now this is a true story... i was floating on my back looking up at the sky and sorta talking to god...A little wierd rite.... I was kinda havin a conversation with god ( which i actually do quite a bit ) .... monolog dalaman of corce.... Thanked him for all I have and making a few resolutions as well as wishes ( cant tell u what :p ).....
When i was content i got back on my feet and dived underwater to the sandy base of the ocean. I really dont know what possesed me to do that. Then, i grabbed a fist of sand and emerged from the water. I watched as the sand slipped away from my grasp back into the sea leaving a small perfectly formed stone in my palm.
Believe it or not it was shaped like a heart !!! What are the odds of that. My cousins were so excited about it and started talking about how I should give that rock to my husband when we get married... ( this is coming from 8 year old boys) .....im only 17 for gods sake....no talk of marriage now plz !
Ive made it my good luck charm now...
Oh yeah , i edited a picture for thineeshan today
Nice anot ; for an amature ?? HEROES !!!!! Theres me, iman and thineeshan posing to be god knows who and shaung posing as Hiro Nakamura !!!
Heres a picture i couldnt resist to take when I found shadow sitting in a little basket with all his tiny friends
PEACE YALL !
Ive read the book THE SECRET by rhonda byrnes and its really changed my outlook on life. Ive learnt that if u surround yourself with negative comments and thoughts you will only channel it upon yourself and constrict your growth spiritually......gosh, now i sound like a spiritual teacher...lol....but seriously it works..Try visualising something you really want...make sure you only have positive feelings like happiness, love, ect... Get rid of the negative feelings like anger, jelousy, ect...( the moment those bad feelings come, your whole system will be screwed up) .Now just focus on your goal and really believe it. You have to totaly believe its 100% possible to achieve your goal. Try visualising in detail. Even the tinyest detail. Do this everyday a couple of times. If you follow these instructions with a pure heart i dont see why you can achieve what you want Btw, try starting with small goals 1st...for example an exam...try and visualise the exact score...i alwiz visualise a score which is within the believeable range for my capability...this makes it easier for me to absolutely believe I can acheive it. Its worked very accurately for me a couple of times already.. ;pTry and give me feedback....dont give up if it doesnt work at first...it takes time and patience....GOOD LUCK :)
little pack rats

I felt a little bored today... Finished reading my latest book Palindrome by Stuart Woods. I didnt want to start with another book. My mind wasnt 'fresh ' enough. To kill the boredom i walked aimlessly up and down my house, eyes gazing at the various items that were placed around the premises. It is then I allowed myself to ponder on one of my mothers so called hobbies travel shopping. My mom has practically travelled all over the world. A blessing her former job with MAS brought about. It was her passion, travelling and collecting items from all over the world to showcase in her own house. Over the years, the items increased resulting in clutter. This is what clouded me from appreciating the history and value of each item. This is a wooden hand carved chair from Africa. The animals carved in the chair supposedly holds a story/myth of an african legend ( which I cant remember anymore). Its also supposed to be good for the back.
This is a hand crafted wood piece of indonesian teak ( if im not mistaken ) from Bali.
A painted ostrich egg from south africa. The contents were removed a long time ago and the shell is extremely hard and strong. There are 6 species of animals painted on the shell signifying THE BIG FIVE animals ( as africans call it). The lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard, rhino and another popular african animal ; the giraffe.
She managed to get her hands on some egyption scripts as well which she framed and hung on the stairway wall. Ive been trying to interpret the symbols( on the top corner) by researching on9. No luck so far.
This is a copy of Vincent Van Gogh's painting titled ' Sunflowers' done by an unknown artist. I always thought that it was painted my a local chinese dude called vincent ( because of the signature at the side of the vase). Who would have though it was meant to be vincent van gogh's signature. LOL. Its hung on the bottom of my stairwell.
I have to admit. Im abit of a pack rat myself. Collecting stuff of no apparent value. I have a hard time throwing anything out. About six years ago, i went for a holiday in New Zealand. There, i visited a farm where i witnessed the shearing of a sheep. I tucked a tuff of sheep wool into the pocket of my jacket and brought it home with me. Im still keeping it to this very day. Gotten a little stinky though.
This is an ostrich feather that i picked up in an ostrich farm somewhere in Negeri Sembilan yearsss ago if im not mistaken.
I picked up a couple of peacock feathers from a temple in town which rares these beautiful big birds.
I also came across some of my maternal grandfathers ancient paintings tucked away in some dusty boxes. According to my father, my grandfather wanted to throw away all his paintings. He unlike me, held no sentimental values to it. He was also very modest, saying that it was just scratches, nothing interesting enough to keep. My dad however secretly withdrew the paintings from the dump and kept it in our house till this very day.
This is a potrait of my grandmother that he drew in their younger days. I find it wildly romantic that a man is able to do something like that. It came as a surprise to me for he doesnt seem like the romantic type of man. Some of the beautifully painted scenery's by my grandad which werent fully victims of bookworms.
And my personal favourite that enchants me every time I sneak a glance at it...........
THE WINDMILL BY THE LAKE
TIRAMISU
Wednesday, December 10, 2008
I learnt how to make tiramisu today !! My grandma made it once and it tasted YUMMY so i asked her to teach me First separate 3 eggs
The yolk in a bowl ( spot the hidden mickey ?) and the white in another. Then, beat the yolk with 3 tablespoons of sugar till the mixture turns pale yellow. If you are satisfied with the texture, add in the cream cheese....about 300 g... Fold it in the yolk.
^ My extra thumbs/ little helper
As for the egg whites, beat it until stiff then add it to the yolk and cheese mixture.
For the base, get some lady's fingers. Here the cool part, these lady's fingers arent vegetables. They are some type of sugar coated long biscuits. All you have to do is dip it in a bowl of strong coffee and swiftly arrange it the the base of the tupperware you intend to use. This is because it crumbles easily. When you are happy with the arrangement of the base, sprinkle some bitter cocoa powder on it. The amount totaly depends on your generousity. As you can see, im very very generous. :P
As soon as your done, pour in the beated mixture onto the base. Then, sprinkle summore cocoa powder on it....
WALAA !! Your tiramisu is ready to eat. All you need is a scoop of ice cream and a dash of rum. Just follow your preference. XD. Enjoy...I know i did
Later in the day i decided to occupy my cousin by teaching him how to paint. I made a simple example and guided him through his. Unforetunately, his brushes were in terrible condition and there were only 4 colours of paint available. But i tried to make do with what i had.
This is the simple example i made
He made a decent copy in the beggining however god didnt bless everyone with overflowing patience. Halfway through it he got irratated and started using his fingers as a paintbrush....
This is how it turned out
Hey ! dont judge...art is subjective after all... And i think he had more fun rubbing his hands on the paint den anything else....Toodles :)

Went shopping with my mom in pyramid today. Went looking for accessories for my prom dress. I dont think ive mentioned this before, but ive already bought my prom dress. Didnt go looking for it or anything. Just happened to see it when I walked into a boutique with my mom. She asked me to try it on just for fun. I refused . It looked quite ' unattractive' and boring. But she insisted anyways so i tried it on. It didnt look that bad. It fitted well and it was very affordable. So what the heck....i bought it. Im only gonna use it once after all. Whats the big fuss about it ? Its really a plain colour and a simple cut. Which is why I have to get accessories. Instead, I ended up with a pair of silver heels.... Haih... Thats what you get when you unleash my mom and I in a shopping mall filled with shoes. We go berserk ! Im not complaining ...hahaWhen we came back, it was my 'duty' to clean up a few boxes we found chucked at a corner of the room. It was a trip down memory lane for me. All my barbie dolls and toys and other stuff i just didn't have the heart to throw out. I used to collect dolls from all over the world
This is the wooden doll my mom got my from japan. She actually comes with a whole family set . I guess i lost it over the years
This is Lady Elizabeth from England ...hehe... A posh name for a posh doll
This is a doll I got from Lake Rotoroa in New Zealand . Its a maui doll. The natives of NZ.
I even found my entire barbie kitchen set
With a fully stocked fridge shadows puzzled. How can the cooking set be smaller den me ????I even found one of my old autographed pinnafore shirts from primary school
Oh how i miss the good old days . Its amazing how time tends to pass like a bullet train without us noticing till one day it may just seize to exist. Enjoy each and every second. Live like every minute was your last...........
DEAN KOONTZ
Thursday, December 4, 2008
I read a book 2day .... Not because I had to but because i wanted to... Its been a really long time since i did that with spm and all....
The book is called Intensity by Dean Koontz. I found it in the back of one of my book shelves. Must have belonged to either my mom or dad some while ago.Ive really become a fan of Dean Koontz's work. His writing is undeniably electrifying. Each and every page left me hanging by a thin thread of suspence.
The story is about this girl Chyna Shepard aged 26 who does to stay at her best friend, Laura Templetons home during their semester break from university. At one o' clock in the morning, in the house in Napa Valley she sits on the bed unable to sleep. Instict proves reliable. A muffled scream from another room alarms her. Soon it is evident that a homocidal sociopath, Edgler Vess, is intent on killing everyone in the house. Through a series of astonishing developments, Chyna finds herself inside Vess's motor home ( a dungeon and morgue on wheels) without his knowledge. Driven with the intense rage and courage to avenge the deaths the Templetons as well as the determination to save another life that he is waiting to take, Chyna takes outrageous risks to ensure her aim be achieved.
It really was an amazing read. True to its name it was sincerely INTENSE . I dont think i have read any other book which was able to keep me in suspence throughout the entire journey yet not resulting in me chucking the book away.
I have to admit Dean Koontz really has a vivid imagination. A gift that not many are blessed with . A gift that he was able to reap its benefits - very well if I might say.
I had read another one of his books not so long ago called Cold Fire. It was breathtaking . Romance, mystery, suspence, supernatural elements - everything you can think of exists in this book. It certainly got me hooked. It wasnt one of those books where you could predict the ending. In fact it was right the opposite. It leads you down a trail and ends up taking a sharp turn. Its an ending like no other.
Thats Dean Koontz. Totaly unpredictable. If you happen to stumble upon his work , i strongly urge you to succumb to curiousity and allow yourself to enter a new dimension of mystery and adventure . Have fun !

Went to shaungs surprise party yesterday.... Had it in arif's house, which was the perfect place by the way. Loads of place to hide. You should have seen the commotion we made trying to find the perfect hiding place. I hid behind the door.. The most convinient place.... I think we made quite abit of noise trying 2 a spot to hide in.... But shaungs reaction was the best ! I think he was genuinely surprised.... He shouted and leaped back when we jumped out of our hiding places and screamed " ARGGGGGHHH".... thats what it sounded like , interefering screams of surprise, happy birthday and so on. It took him about 10 minutes to settle down. LOL
Then the 2nd surprise of the day came... Arif, Iman & Hoi Liong stayed up the night before to make him the surprise . It was a piniata ! You know, the big colourful things that sweets come from when u hit em... He was absolutely estatic...like a little kid in a candy shop. We enjoyed watching his attempts ( not very successful) of hitting the piniata. hehe
Arif & Iman trying to tie up the spider piniata
That night i went to thineeshans house for his parents anniversary.... Man, his mom can cook ! The chicken was super spicy !!! Guo yi anticipated that and was ready with a small towel to wipe of the sweat. Shaung got a little drunk with all the spicyness and couldnt stop laughing...Its like it went to his head...
Guo Yi after his what , like 4th round ??
Today, my aunt took me & my couzzins to swensens...Its a tuesday so the earthquake was 50 % off...Yummmy !!!
